Well Maisha ni "Mpesa Tu" is no longer be the only choice to send and receive money from friends, business colleagues and family. You can now send money across different networks i.e Telekom (T-cash) and Aitel Money directly from your M-Pesa through a new service called Tuma Popote, here is how

  1. Dial *234*1*8#
  2. Enter the phone number of the recipient
  3. Input your M-pesa PIN in the popup dialog that follows and you're done.

Ut is that simple. One advantage of sending money to telekom T-cash is because it is like free, Telekom refunds you the sending charges. As of the time of writing this post the offer is still on. The tuma popote regardless charges less than normal Mpesa charges.

Another reason to consider other operators is also the paybill costs, T-cash charges you almost zero for most paybill charges. The advantage is you use just the same paybill number as you do with Mpesa.
